Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)
An arm lift, or brachioplasty, removes excess skin and fat from the upper arms—commonly referred to as "bat wings" or "bingo wings." This procedure creates a more toned, proportionate arm contour and is especially popular among patients who have experienced significant weight loss.
The Procedure
Dr. Amit makes an incision along the inner arm (from armpit to elbow in severe cases, or limited to the armpit for minimal excess). Excess skin and fat are removed, and the remaining tissue is tightened. Liposuction may be combined for enhanced contouring. The procedure takes 1.5-3 hours under general anaesthesia.
Recovery
Compression garments are worn for 4-6 weeks. Most patients return to work within 1-2 weeks. The scar fades progressively and is placed along the inner arm where it is least visible.
